Bush Camping & Campsites
Kookaburra Creek is a Wilderness Retreat. We are proud to have our Privately Owned Sanctuary listed as a member of the Wildlife Land Trust. We offer non-powered bush camping situated along the creek bed with stunning views of Mt Remarkable.
We are also proud to say- “We never over-book!” We provide a genuine Australian bush experience with peaceful and private campsites available, all at least 50+ metres apart. We have 3 group campsites catering for 3-4 camp setups per site, and 4 single sites.
Peaceful, secluded camping, away from the crowds, offering the ultimate family camping experience.
We wish for all our guests to enjoy a peaceful experience in the bush, therefor we ask that you leave your generators at home and respect our 10pm noise curfew.
Thriving birdlife, Kangaroos, and Wallabies (Also known as Euros), the occasional family of Emu’s, Lace Monitors (goanna) in the warmer months, and Echidnas.
The campsites are a convenient short walk to the main accommodation, where the toilet and shower facility is located.
Please note that the Main Accommodation verandah and facilities are booked privately and not for use by campers.
We have some easy, short walking trails on our property, and our neighbouring National Park (Willowie Forest) offers a network of shared-use trails, bike riding and bush walking.
Situated 10kms north of Melrose, our family operated Retreat is set on the foothills of Mt Remarkable, in the Southern Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
Just 279kms from Adelaide, an easy 3-hour drive, via the main highway.
We also offer affordable and comfortable accommodation. Please see our accommodation options.
